There are many websites that offer free 3D models. In this post I won’t start naming all those sites - our aim is to produce a high quality render and this means to use high quality models. You can’t have one without the other.
Design Connected offers high quality 3D models either for purchase or through a subscription plan.
It also has the Freebies menu with more than 400 free models.
What I love about this company is that not only the quality is exceptional, but it also offers the same model in different materials & this makes our life so much easier.
Let's take as an example the Mobil 100 Pendant.
Its a free 3d model in two different finishes, gold and black. It supports various renderers, i.e. V-Ray, Mental Ray, Corona etc. and is available in various file formats, i.e. 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, SkecthUp, 3ds etc. So they have adjusted their models to basically cover everyone.
This site offers collections of 3d models, but you can also purchase each model separately. It also has the FREE menu.
This website is good not only to buy 3D models but to also keep up with the latest news in the 3D industry.
If you go to the SHOP menu, this website apart from 3D models, offers interior and exterior scenes.
If you click for instance on the Collections tab and select Archinteriors, you will find collections of interior scenes.
Unfortunately, Evermotion doesn’t have a Free menu, but they offer one model for free on every Archmodels collection. Go to Collections, choose Archmodels and click for instance on vol 241. On the right side click on the FREE SAMPLE button to download it.
While the other 3 websites I mentioned have their own 3D modeling team, in this website anyone can upload a 3D model. Depending on the quality of the model, it will pass as a Pro model, if it’s good quality and as a Free model, if the quality is below average.
Once you choose a category, let’s say Bed, then you can choose if you want to see ALL the models, only the PRO or the FREE ones and then you can select the model you wish to download.
Turbosquid has a similar philosophy to 3dsky in terms that in both sites anyone can upload a 3D model and both sites have free models and models for purchase. The main difference is that in 3dsky the PRO models have a fixed pricing, while in Turbosquid the artist who uploads the model can choose the price he wishes to sell it at.
So, these are the websites I personally use in my designs and I hope will also help you in your creations!
Thanks for reading, I will see you all in my next post.
thank you so much you are the best
